Apple Fool

Recipe Ingredients

A quick and easy dessert

2 lb apples
2oz sugar
A little water
Half a pint of custard (or half a pint of canned custard)

Preparation and cooking instructions

Prepare the fruit and then put in a saucepan with the sugar and a little water.

Cover with a lid and simmer gently until the apples are pulpy. Make half a pint of custard, or heat the contents of a can of custard.

Then pour the custard into a bowl and allow to cool, if you stir the custard frequently whilst it is cooling this should help to stop a skin from forming.

Now purée the fruit by passing through a sieve. When the fruit and the custard are quite cold, add the puréed fruit to the custard and mix until the fruit and custard are smooth and evenly combined.
