Rhubarb Crumble is a delicious traditional English dessert
usually served with custard or cream. If you wish, you can
substitute the rhubarb and ginger for a different fruit and
spice, for example apples and cinnamon make a delicious combination.
Rhubarb Crumble Ingredients
for the Crumble
8oz all purpose flour
3oz of soft brown sugar
3oz butter (at room temperature)
and for the filling
2lb of rhubarb
3oz of soft brown Sugar
Water
A teaspoon of ground ginger
Preparation and cooking instructions
To make the crumble put the flour into a bowl and add the
butter. Now using your fingertips rub the butter into the
flour until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Next carefully
mix in the sugar.
Now prepare and cut up the rhubarb and put in a saucepan with
a little water, add the sugar and the ginger, stir and then
simmer until the rhubarb is tender. Now transfer the rhubarb
to a pie dish.
Sprinkle the crumble over the fruit so that the fruit is evenly
covered and then bake in the oven at 350°F (180°C)
for approximately 30 minutes or until the crumble is light
golden brown.
