Recipe Ingredients
6 oz of soft brown sugar (Demerara sugar)
8 oz of oat flakes (rolled oats)
6 oz of butter (at room temperature)
Pinch of Salt
A shallow tin approximately 8 inches by 12 inches
Flap Jacks Preparation & cooking instructions
To make approximately 16 flap jacks
Begin by beating the butter.
Then in a bowl mix together the oats, sugar and salt, add
the butter and stir well. Tip the mixture into a greased shallow
jelly tin (Swiss roll tin) and then smooth and press the surface
with a knife.
Put the tin on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C)
for approximately half-an-hour.
Then when cooking is complete remove the tin from the oven
and leave for a few minutes and whilst still warm cut into
approximately 16 fingers. The flapjacks should then be left
in the tin until they are cold.
