Recipe Ingredients
1lb all-purpose flour 4 cups
Half a pint of milk
1oz superfine sugar (caster sugar)
3oz butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon of baking powder
A pinch of salt
Preparation and cooking instructions
Grease a baking sheet.
Preheat oven to 425°F(220°C)
Begin by sifting together the flour and baking powder. Then
with your fingertips rub in the butter until the mixture resembles
breadcrumbs.
Now add the salt and superfine sugar. In a separate bowl
beat together the egg and milk, then add this to the mixture
and mix to a dough.
Divide into seven pieces and roll out to approximately half
an inch thick. Place on a greased baking sheet, prick with
a fork and bake for approximately twenty minutes.
