Irish Stew

Recipe Ingredients

2lbs of neck of mutton
¾ pint of water
3lbs potatoes
2 onions
Salt and Pepper

Preparation and cooking instructions

Cut the mutton into largish pieces, peel and cut up the potatoes and slice the onions. Sprinkling with salt and pepper between layers, place a layer of meat, a layer of potatoes, and a layer of onions in a casserole, continue layering and then add ¾ of a pint of water.

Cover the Irish Stew. Place in the oven and bake for approximately four hours at 200°F(100°C).
